Yahoo IM Fails to connect

The other day I noticed some peculiar behavior with Yahoo Instant Messenger. For some reason the client would fail to connect randomly, some mornings it would connect without a problem other days it would fail and fail only to eventually get connected. Further investigation revealed that if I went to command prompt and typed:
ipconfig /flushdns
